Each blade is oil tempered to 58-60 HRC and sharpened at a precise 20-degree angle for superior cutting performance. Our Damascus steel is authentic, made from a blend of 1095HC and 15N20 nickel carbon. The metals are repeatedly heated, folded, and hammered to create 384 distinct layers. After forging, the blades are acid-etched, revealing the beautiful contrasting patterns of nickel satin and blackish-gray high carbon steel. Handles are polished to perfection, and edges are sharpened to achieve a professional finish.
