This custom lot of 5 handmade hammered Damascus steel blade chef set knives showcases exceptional craftsmanship and quality. Our Damascus steel is genuine, not just an acid etch, made from a mixture of 1095HC and 15N20 nickel carbon steels. The bars are heated and folded repeatedly to achieve the desired 384 layers, creating a stunning layered pattern. The blades are then burned in acid, which turns the nickel layers a satin color and the high carbon layers a blackish gray, beautifully exposing the distinctive Damascus layers. All Damascus steel is acid etched to reveal these layers, and when highly polished, the metal shines with a satin finish like all quality steels. The handles are also meticulously high polished, buffing off the acid burn for a smooth, satin appearance. The blades are sharpened at a 20-degree angle, ensuring excellent cutting performance.
