Our Damascus steel is 100% authentic, made by forging together 1095HC high carbon steel and 15N20 nickel steel. The steel bars are heated and folded repeatedly, creating 384 distinct layers that produce the beautiful and functional patterned blade. The blades are then acid-etched to reveal the satin nickel and dark high-carbon contrast layers, highlighting the unique Damascus design.If polished to a high shine, the blade appears satin like traditional steel, but only acid etching reveals the signature Damascus layered pattern.After forging, each knife handle is carefully hand-polished, and the blade edges are sharpened to a razor-sharp 20-degree angle.
