The knife you see in the photos is exactly what you will receive. Our Damascus steel is authentic, crafted from a blend of 1095HC and 15N20 nickel carbon steel. The steel bars are heated and folded repeatedly to create a remarkable 384 layers, resulting in the stunning Damascus pattern. The blade is then acid burned, turning the nickel layers into a satin finish and the high carbon layers into a blackish gray, vividly revealing the layered structure. The acid etching process brings out the true beauty of the Damascus pattern. High polishing of the handle removes the acid burn for a smooth satin finish, while the blade edge retains a sharp, satin sheen.
