Crafted from a blend of 1095 high carbon steel and 15N20 nickel steel, the blade is heated and folded repeatedly to create 384 distinctive layers that enhance durability and sharpness.Our Damascus steel is genuine, not just acid-etched surface patterns. The blade undergoes an acid-burning process that turns the nickel layers a satin color while the high carbon steel appears blackish gray, revealing the intricate layered Damascus pattern. After forging, the blade and handle are carefully high-polished — the acid-burned layer on the handle is buffed away for a smooth finish, while the blade edge retains a satin finish for excellent sharpness.
