Our Damascus steel is authentic and not just an acid etch, made from a blend of 1095 high carbon steel and 15N20 nickel carbon. These steels are heated and folded repeatedly, creating 384 intricate layers that give the blade its unique and beautiful pattern. The blade is then acid burned, which reveals the stunning contrast of nickel satin and blackish gray carbon layers. After forging, we high polish the handles to remove the acid burn, while the blade edges are sharpened to a satin finish.
